How is Jackaltac offering the cheapest prices on the
PCB planet?

We wanted to make PCBs affordable for Hobbyists, Students, Semi-professionals, Spark-funners and others, so we created an extreme simple Pool with only one type of PCB and only one delivery time. A strict “no frills” policy with no telephone lines, only one language on the website, no brochures and standard shipping packages, keeping the costs down! The graph shows the price of the Jackaltac PCB and the prices of our competitors. Shipping prices are additional costs. As an example, the shipping of 1 PCB to the UK costs 10.94 Euros. For the shipping costs of our competition, please refer to their respective websites.

How are the Jackaltac Prices calculated?

One square decimeter double sided PCB inclusive of green soldermask and white silkscreen on top costs 30 Euros 

Why does a single sided PCB cost the same as a double sided?

We put the single sided PCB orders on the same Pool with the double sided ones. More orders in one Pool lowers the price. You will have copper only on one side, but your holes will be plated through.

Why is “with soldermask” and “without soldermask”
the same price?

Because we put both technologies in the same Pool. If you do not have a soldermask layer or you do not want soldermask, your PCB will be manufactured in the same Pool and the soldermask will be washed out during the development process just like the areas free of soldermask on a standard PCB. Once again the reason is to lower the price for you.

Why does “without silkscreen” not save me money?

All PCB orders without silkscreen end up in the same Pool as the ones ordered with silkscreen. They will just be excluded when it comes to the application of ink. The reason? Right: Moneysaving!

What is the minimum and the maximum size I can order?

You can order PCBs in a minimum size of 50 x50 mm up to a maximum of 350mm x 350mm.

My PCB is smaller than 50x50mm!

Jackaltac offers no routing flatrates, no routing on pips, no scoring and no miniature PCBs, where a lot of manual work is involved. If you need these specialties, please refer to the competition listed above or use your jigsaw ;-)  

Why can’t I order more than 5 pieces?

Normally Hobbyists don’t produce in series ;-) Jackaltac is a source for prototypes. We might offer larger quantities later.

Where do my PCBs come from?

Jackaltac uses a PCB manufacturer in sunny Cape Town, South Africa. Shipment is made and charged from Ireland. 

Duty and Taxes

Boards shipped to an EU country will have VAT at 23% added where the boards are for private use – or no VAT number is available.

Boards shipped to a Non EU Country will not be subject to VAT at the point of entry as VAT is an EU tax.

However please note some NON EU countries may have other Import tariffs that apply to certain goods.

The rates no doubt will depend on whether the goods are being imported for private or business purposes, therefore where a customers outside the EU imports the boards they may well have to pay additional tariffs on import depending on the country and the tax status of the individual.
